What is Mountain
Boarding?
Mountain Boarding,
also known as All-Terrain Boarding, is a
cross
between a skateboard
and a snowboard. They are designed to be
used on slopes covered by grass or
sometimes dirt.
The idea behind the
mountain board is to get down a hill
having as
much FUN on the way down as
possible!

It’s time to rock it
at Hilltop in our own Rock Band Studio
equipped with drums, electric guitar,
base guitar, key board, and microphones
for vocals.
Who likes to Cook?
Better yet, who likes
to Eat?!
 
Cooking has been added
to our program so you will have an
opportunity to learn the basics taught
by our own Hilltop chefs. You will learn
skills in prep-work, baking, grilling
and so much more. Although if you are
like us, th e best part of
 cooking is the
sampling of your work
that comes after! Yum,
yum!!
 Nicole Needham
(‟10) –
Joining us this year from England,
Nicole will be teaching Arts & Crafts.
Nicole is excited to be here this summer
and wants to know whose up for dressing
up as a bunch of grapes? Nicole will
have fabulous ideas to spark your
creativity for costumes and theme days!
Mark McCormick
- Returning for his second year („08,
„10) with us , Mark graduates in May
from Stirling University w/ a BSc
(honors) in Marine
Biology—Congratulations Mark!! After
camp he will be applying what he‟s
learned by traveling to the Dutch
Antilles to work with turtles for a month.
Jo Livingstone
(‟08, „09, „10)
-
Congratulations go to Jo who will be a
registered teacher in May, hooray! She
also, coached her girls soccer team at
Castlemilk High School in Glasgow to
their first trophy. Job well done to
coach and players! After spending the
summer with us Jo will travel to Sydney,
Australia to teach P.E. for a year while
spending time with Hilltopers , Fiona
Davidson and Jake Scroby.
Michael Mercer-Brown
(„09, „10) visited
Natalie Graham
(„09, „10) in Zambia. Some of the trips
highlights were: Bungee jumping at
Victoria Falls (111 meters w/ a 4 sec.
free fall!), rode an elephant, went on
safari and petted a lion. Thrilling!
At home, Michael was busy with an
exhibition that was curated by himself
and a friend which traveled to
Manchester and Leeds, and perhaps onto
London this summer. The proceeds went to
LCD, Link Community Development, an
organization in the delivery of school
improvement programs in Africa.
Continued congrats to Michael for being
selected as 1 of 14 participants (out of
97 applicants) for a "design thinking
workshop" w/ the infamous Ian Anderson (
Ander-son is responsible for the
branding of Nickelodeon and the
Coca-Cola music campaign recently).
Natalie is in the middle of her first
year zoology degree and will be taking a
field course in Trini-dad and Tobago.
She is preparing for a half marathon in
September so if you want to do some
running this summer join Natalie. Two
lucky tortoises have been added to
Natalie‟s family named Christabelle and
Clarence and the word is they are too
cute!
Rachel Kerry
(‟10) toured Australia and
overcame her fear of deep water by
snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef and
surfing. Rachel also sky-dived 14,000
ft. in Cairns. Amazing!
Fiona Davidson
(„07,‟09, „10) has become a God Mother.
Her charming God Son‟s name is Samuel
Flynn. We wish baby and family the very
best and perhaps we have a future
Hilltop camper/staff in the making here.
David Laurie
(„09, „10) completed an army
challenge/adventure course were he
placed ahead of experienced soldiers.
Now he is recovering from achy legs and
arms but we say way to go David!
Ailsa Hamilton
(„09, „10) will be graduating with a
Honors Degree in Reproductive Biology
from Edinburgh University. In addition,
Ailsa is submitting her project for a
national competi-tion. All we can say is
superb job and good luck with your
project!
Jake Scroby
(„09, „10) studying hard for his final
for Leeds Met;

(„08, „09, „10) will be obtaining her BA
in Accounting &

We have added a
pasta bar to our ever growing menu. What
does this mean? You will be able to
choose pasta as a meal or to compliment
the main course at dinner. The pasta bar
will offer a variety of pasta types and
sauces or you may choose to just go
plain. Delicious!
